On September 20, 2018, Stephen Krashen (professor emeritus at the Rossier School of Education, University of Southern California) wrote a letter to the editors of the New York Times, titled Libraries Help Alleviate Poverty and Rural Isolation, in which he cited the school library impact studies in his defense of libraries and their power to alleviate social inequality.
