Community College Libraries and Librarians and Student Success

SLNC logoThe State Library of North Carolina has funded a study of the impact of community college libraries and librarians and student success.  The first SLNC grant of Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds covers the first year of the three-year study.

The RSL Research Group is conducting this study under the aegis of Edgecombe Community College and project director Rejeanor Scott.  They are being guided by an advisory committee including community college administrators, library directors and librarians, and institutional research and effectiveness officers.  The first phase of the study will include a survey of community college librarians regarding a variety of activities related to the pursuit of embedded librarianship and the teaching of information literacy.
